Chromosaturation, Carlos Cruz-Diez, De Renava OFF x Centre Pompidou
Following La Notte in 2023, which offered a stroll through a Mediterranean night, De Renava and the Centre Pompidou are joining forces once again to present the second part of this diptych: Plein Soleil.
Deliberately sensory, the exhibition offers an immersive and atmospheric stroll through light and colour, explored by the artists for their physical, perceptual and even philosophical dimensions. The selection brings together some twenty three-dimensional installations (films and videos, design objects, plastic works) by leading figures in French, international and island contemporary art, covering around 60 years of creation, from 1958 to 2021. Inviting us to reconnect humanity with nature through art, these works are a prelude to a broader reflection on our environment, while offering a sensory experience that resonates with the island's dazzling light and sunny landscapes.
Curated by Prisca Meslier (director of De Renava), Philippe-Alain Michaud (chief curator, cinema collection, Musée national d'art moderne − Centre Pompidou) and Philippe Bettinelli (chief curator, new media collection, Musée national d'art moderne − Centre Pompidou).
